Pre-Header: 10% of a dealership’s sales from one platform. Here’s the story

Subject:  What EngageProiQ Is Doing for Dealers — And What’s Coming Next

Dealer Software Success caught up with Anthony Petrone, National Vice President of Sales & Training at Helm, to talk about the company’s EngageProIQ platform.

What EngageProiQ Does

Originally known as Chatterspot, EngageProiQ offers a comprehensive suite of full-service and self-managed marketing solutions for dealerships. It’s integrated with all major DMS providers and draws on live customer data to drive campaigns in Sales, Fixed Operations, and Recalls.

The services menu includes automated text and email campaigns, on-demand campaigns, and real-time 1:1 texting that routes directly to a dealer’s CRM, BDC, online scheduling tool, or sales and service teams. Dealers meet with their assigned Performance Manager to handle setup, monthly reviews, ROI tracking, and ongoing campaign direction.

The Recall Dimension

An area that doesn’t always surface in dealer marketing conversations is recall management. Dealers carrying open recalls have both a compliance obligation and a retention opportunity. EngageProiQ addresses both by automating outreach to affected customers based on VIN, ownership data, and feeds from partners and OEMs.

A Dealer Story

Petrone pointed to a five-franchise operation (Toyota, CDJR, Subaru, Mazda, VW) in Ohio as a representative example. More than 10% of that store’s sales are now attributable to EngageProiQ campaigns. Implementation of dealer-specific campaigns is described as straightforward: a GM, GSM, and Fixed Ops Director work with the Helm team to configure the campaigns they want to run, and ROI becomes visible quickly

ROI

According to Petrone, the platform pulls data from day one, so there’s no extended data-normalization period before campaigns start firing. For a store the size of Brunswick, that translates to measurable results within 30 to 60 days of going live.

The AI Question

The system evaluates customer signals — service history, vehicle age, equity position, repair frequency, ownership lifecycle stage — and determines who receives which campaign and when, without requiring a human decision on each contact. A service customer approaching a likely trade-in window receives a sales-oriented message; a customer who has missed service intervals receives a retention campaign. Both happen simultaneously and automatically

What’s Next: Outsourced BDC and Integrated AI

The immediate forward-looking development Petrone discussed was an upcoming outsourced BDC offering. The problem it targets is a specific one: the gap between a customer requesting a service appointment or expressing interest in a vehicle, and an advisor or salesperson actually scheduling the interaction. That handoff will be significantly improved with an integrated AI, a BDC, or both.

The new offering is designed to bridge that gap with an AI-assisted BDC layer that manages scheduling decisions and leads qualifications without requiring a store employee to manage the queue in real time.

Final Thought

Petrone’s theme throughout the conversation was the cost of a fragmented vendor stack. A dealership running one tool for email, another for text, a third for BDC, with many of them not connected to live data or each other, is spending money in multiple directions without a unified view of what’s working.

EngageProiQ’s pitch is consolidation — one platform, clean customer data, one Performance Manager, one line of accountability.
